Hi, I’m Joshua
Well, I’ve gone and done it. I have officially started a blog dedicated to country music.
If you know me, you know I have a passion for country music and what better way to show it than starting a blog and writing about it.
Allow me to introduce myself: my name is Joshua Claussen. I work in radio at 106.5 WKDZ-FM in Cadiz, Kentucky. We are a small market, community-oriented country radio station featuring a wide variety of songs spanning over 50 years; from the 1970’s to current favorites.
While working part-time in 2013, I had the opportunity to help win the prestigious Crystal Award from the National Association of Broadcasters and the National Association of Broadcasters Marconi Small Market Station of the Year Award. In 2016, we again won the Marconi for Small Market Station of the Year.
In 2019, I earned the Kentucky Broadcasters Association Rookie of the Year award for my work in the news department within my first two years of working full-time in radio. In 2020, the association presented me with their Best News Coverage award for my story, Awaken March Brings Awareness to Racism at Home.
I wasn’t always someone who liked writing news stories but the passion has grown over the last few years. I will now use it to cover the industry that has my heart.
I want to use this platform to shine a light on the high points of the music industry as well as the low points, or what the public may have missed.
