Ingrid Andress’ latest single on country radio is a song she says is the most personal song she’s ever written.
In a tweet shared Monday, Andress said, “It was originally written as a way for me to work through all my frustrations that stem on how society conditions all of us – men and women – to believe certain ‘truths’ that end up dictating even the smallest details of our day to day lives.” She added, “Now I hope it can speak to all of you as a reminder to never be afraid of expressing your very own kind of ladylike, whatever that may be, and to live exactly as you are every single day. Being a woman is hard.”
“Lady Like” comes from her album of the same name and after “The Stranger”, which stalled at 49 on the Hot Country Songs Chart. Her debut single was a top-five hit, “More Hearts Than Mine”, which is also featured on the album.
Andress released the deluxe version of ‘Lady Like’ on Friday, which included a version of her hit-single with Karen Fairchild and Kimberly Schlapman from Little Big Town.
